2527 (Lawnswood) Squadron, Air Training Corps (ATC)

Hello and welcome to 2527 (Lawnswood) Squadron,
I am Pilot Officer Richard Lyon, the Commanding Officer.

Our squadron is all about providing the best possible opportunities for our cadets. Life is incredibly competitive, and whether it’s for jobs, university places, or promotions, there will always be competition. Our aim is to make sure our cadets have the edge in these situations by providing them with high quality training, and a huge range of experiences they can draw on. As a former cadet myself I understand the  value of what the RAF Air Cadets can offer.

All of my staff and I are volunteers, who believe passionately in what the Squadron provides.

Our ethos is to ensure that all of our cadets can access these opportunities regardless of their financial situation and background.

However, all that motivational talk aside, our main aim is to have FUN! You wouldn’t imagine the amount of activities we offer, both on Squadron and in the wider cadet organisation.

There is a reason that the RAF Air Cadets is the premier uniformed youth organisation- it’s because we care about making sure our cadet experience is the best.

Please enjoy exploring our website, and get in touch if you want to know more.
